The Aaron Hill Jazz Ensemble performed at the Smithfield Cultural Arts Center.

Smithfield & Isle of Wight Tourism, The Smithfield, Isle of Wight, Windsor Chamber of Commerce and the Smithfield Historic District Business Association have joined forces with many of the Smithfield Historic District merchants to create SmARTS (Smithfield Monthly Arts), a stroll through numerous Historic District shops to view stunning art, listen to captivating music, enjoy light bites and beverages on the second Friday of every month from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. SmARTS is free and open to all of the arts loving public.

Merchants will display a minimum of 4 pieces of visually stunning art or host a musician. All art will be juried by the SMARTS committee. Participants will be readily identifiable by the colorfulSmARTS banner that will hang outside of their establishment. Smithfield Cultural Arts Center Openings will be coordinated with SmARTS. Attendees are encouraged to shop while they browse as art and participating shop merchandise will be for sale!

Next Month's SmARTs Event:

Friday, December 12th!

Friday, November 14th, SmARTs will offer the following specials…For our visitor’s convenience; a free tram service will be available. It will continuously loop from the shops at Smithfield Station, travel up Church Street, make its way down Main Street, and return to Smithfield Station.

We’re also introducing the “Porker Run” this month.  Here’s how it works: playing cards will be available at five randomly selected SmARTs merchants/attractions in one of the five downtown areas (100, 200 and 300 blocks of Main Street, the corner of Church & Main, and the Boardwalk Shops at Smithfield Station). Visitors will collect all five cards and turn them in at either the Smithfield Visitor Center (335 Main Street) or Victoria’s Rose at the Boardwalk Shops to enter to win our grand prize – a fully-cooked Smithfield Country-style Ham! You do not need to be present to win.)

Candle-lit luminaries will add a beautiful glow to the streets of Downtown Smithfield and Christmas Carolers and music piped into the streets will add to the festive atmosphere.

The weather cooperated and visitors enjoyed strolling the streets and visiting the shops of downtown.
